Okay, but what actually is Hurl the Pearl?
The concept is refreshingly simple.
For a couple bucks, you get a handful of “pearls” — soft, squishy baseballs that won’t hurt anything or anyone — and your job is to land as many as you can in the bed of the truck as it drives its lap around the field.
It’s part carnival game, part moving target practice, and it turns out timing a throw against a truck that’s actually in motion is a lot harder than it sounds.
It’s been a Storm Chasers staple for years now and the format hasn’t changed much because it doesn’t need to. It’s cheap, it’s easy, it’s got just enough challenge to make a good shot feel earned, and it gives fans something to do between innings besides refill their nacho tray.
