This event was dedicated to supporting Mental & Behavioral Health initiatives within Gretna Public Schools, and we are thrilled to congratulate them on raising over $173,000 for this vital cause!
Supporting Mental & Behavioral Health in Gretna Public Schools
The Gretna Schools Foundation is deeply committed to ensuring that students receive the mental and behavioral health support they need. Through a strategic partnership with the Foundation, Gretna Public Schools, and Complete Wellness, students have access to crucial resources that promote emotional well-being and academic success.
Through an evidence-based approach, Gretna Public Schools can support student learning and behavior through three levels of intervention. This approach allows students to receive the right support level to thrive academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally.
Expanding Access to Mental Health Support
Since 2016, Gretna Public Schools has worked closely with Complete Wellness to provide students with access to Licensed Mental Health Practitioners (LMHPs). As this program has evolved, an LMHP is now available on-site, working between Gretna’s two high schools. This provides students with professional support in a one-on-one setting within two weeks, or even sooner when possible.
The need for accessible mental health support has been rising, especially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which amplified these challenges, making early intervention and crisis support more critical than ever.
