In 2023, the H+H team demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact in the local community through its Driving Good initiative.
In its first year, Driving Good drove a series of dedicated donation drives and partnerships with reputable non-profit organizations.
The H+H team went above and beyond, contributing over $20,000 to support various causes close to our hearts.
Let’s take a closer look at the remarkable efforts undertaken by H+H and its associates to drive positive change in the Omaha community.
Heart and Stroke Walk with the American Heart Association
One standout initiative of the H+H Driving Good campaign was the partnership with the American Heart Association for their annual Heart and Stroke Walk held on May 20th, 2023. H+H not only raised over $10,500 but also secured the impressive rank of #6 out of 60 Omaha businesses participating in the event. The involvement of over 20 associates in the walk showcased the team’s dedication to promoting cardiovascular health within the community.
Back-to-School Picnic with Big Brothers Big Sisters
In July 2023, H+H joined forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands to collect school supplies for their annual back-to-school picnic, held on August 6th, 2023. This collaborative effort ensured that the ‘littles’ in the Big Brothers Big Sisters community-based mentoring program received essential school supplies, setting them up for a successful academic year.
Food Drive for NeighborGood Food Pantry
From October 9th to 21st, 2023, the H+H team ran a food drive across all its Omaha locations. The goal was not only to collect much-needed food resources but also to support NeighborGood Pantry’s mission of providing essential sustenance to those in need. The initiative proved highly successful, with H+H raising over 5,000 lbs of food and over $3,000 in donations. Associates showcased their creativity by constructing sculptures from the collected donations, adding a unique touch to the charitable efforts.
It’s important to note that 32.5% of the population in Sarpy County has low food access, according to a 2022 Sarpy/Cass Health Department Minority Health Study. Melissa Nelson, Executive Director at NeighborGood shares, “Sarpy County continues to grow in neighborhoods and businesses, yet food insecurity is still faced by many of our neighbors. We’ve continued to see unprecedented demand these past two years, which has led to extremely empty shelves.” Read more about H+H’s 2023 Food Drive.
Project Harmony’s Holiday Adopt-a-Family Program
As the 2023 holiday season approached, H+H associates rallied together for a cause close to their hearts. From November 20th to November 30th, 2023, the team raised over $6,000 to purchase gifts for 10 families with Project Harmony. The initiative ensured that every family received their presents in time for Christmas, spreading joy and warmth during the festive season. Notably, 100% of the donations directly contributed to purchasing gifts for the adopted families. Associates went the extra mile by hosting a gift wrapping party at the H+H Central Support office, adding a personal touch to the gifts for the families. The kindness and generosity of our associates is evident through their donations of money and time to this cause. Read more about H+H’s 2023 Holiday Gift Drive.
