At H+H Automotive, we believe that being a good neighbor means more than just providing great vehicles—it means showing up for our community when it matters most. That’s why, as part of our H+H Driving Good initiative, we stepped up to the plate this June to partner for the third consecutive year with the Food Bank for the Heartland’s Strike Out Hunger Drive.

The Critical Need in Our Neighborhoods
Food insecurity remains a critical issue across Nebraska and Western Iowa, quietly affecting everyone from school children to veterans and local families navigating sudden financial hardships. By teaming up with the Food Bank, H+H aims to ensure that fewer families have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
Stepping Up: Over 8,800 Meals Provided
This year, the effort got a major boost from H+H, which won the award for the most overall food raised during the campaign by rallying its workforce to donate over 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food. This massive contribution translates into over 8,800 total meals the Food Bank for the Heartland can provide.
Friendly Competition Drives Big Results
To keep energy high among H+H team members, each location competed against each other for the most raised donations. The location with the most donations was H+H Jeep Dodge Ram who raised over 2,000 pounds of food! This is an incredible effort from this team! Our other locations also rose to the challenge with the H+H Omaha Recon Center raising nearly 500 pounds of food and H+H Chevrolet raising 256 pounds. Congratulations to all the H+H locations for their participation and generosity toward this important cause.
Creativity for a Cause: The Sculpture Competition
Additionally, we added a creative twist: a company-wide sculpture competition. Each H+H location was challenged to build a structure entirely out of their collected food items before boxing them up for delivery. Channeling their daily inspiration, the H+H Jeep Dodge Ram team took home the gold by constructing a USA Soccer & Jeep sculpture out of cans and boxes.

In a close second was ONYX Automotive, part of the H+H Group, with their very stylish Range Rover sculpture.

Every location stepped up to the plate and had very creative sculptures from their donations!

Driving Good Into the Future
While the competition brought a sense of fun to each H+H location, the real victory is the impact these donations will have on dinner tables across the region. This is just one stop in H+H Automotive’s ongoing community efforts.
